Stripping + Staining Old Deck

This client had an old, previously stained and fading deck. We stripped the old oil-based stain with a combination of pressure washing and sanding. We then applied a single coat of a modified oil semi-transparent stain.

Take a look at how the old stain was peeling / fading. Our decks here in Ottawa go through a lot; cold, rigid winters with snow and hail, and blistering hot summers. It's not uncommon for us to encounter decks that are weathered and need to be stripped and re-finished, just like this one!

After prepping the deck, we applied a single coat of a modified oil semi-transparent stain to give the clients deck a "like new" appearance. We also re-painted the clients hot tub and gave it a new look that highlights the quality of the new decks appearance!
